Find the Right Fit

Sizing Guide for PawFurvia Gear

A quick guide to measuring your dog or cat, choosing the right size, and finding the right fit for every PawFurvia product.

Brand note: This is the official sizing guide for PawFurvia harnesses, collars and apparel. It is not a Top Paw® (PetSmart) size chart and will not match Top Paw product letters. Always use the measurements and chart on the exact PawFurvia product page you are buying.

Want a deeper walkthrough with weight/breed examples? Use our dog harness size chart by weight and breed and the step-by-step how to measure your dog for a harness and collar guide.

How to Measure

Step-by-Step Measurement

Step 01

Neck Measurement

Use a soft measuring tape around the base of the neck where the collar sits. Leave enough room to fit two fingers between the tape and the neck for a comfortable fit.

Step 02

Chest Measurement

Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. For harnesses, this is the most important number.

Step 03

Back Measurement

Measure from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. Helpful for harnesses and full-coverage apparel.

Step 04

Weight

Weigh your dog or cat on a regular scale. Weight is the easiest way to cross-check your measurements and choose the right size range.

Harness Sizing

Choosing the Right Harness

Harness fit depends on the exact design. Measure your dog’s chest just behind the front legs and the neck where the harness sits. Check the measurements published for the product you want; if they are missing or unverified, contact us before choosing a size.

Use the chest and neck ranges only when the product’s measurements have been verified. Size letters can differ between designs, so do not choose by breed, age, or coat alone. If the chart is missing, marked unverified, or does not fit both measurements, contact us before ordering.

Collar Sizing

Choosing the Right Collar

Collars are sized by neck circumference. The right collar should be snug enough that you cannot pull it over the head easily, but loose enough that you can fit two fingers between the collar and the neck.

For growing puppies, leave a little extra room. For cats, look for a quick-release buckle that opens easily under tension.

Leash Considerations

Picking the Right Leash Length

For everyday neighborhood walks, a 4 to 6 foot leash is the standard. For trail walks and open parks, a longer 6 to 10 foot line gives your dog more room. For training and busy sidewalks, a shorter 2 to 4 foot leash keeps your dog close.

Check the selected leash’s stated length, adjustment range and attachment type. A longer leash is not automatically a better choice; choose based on your walking environment and ability to maintain control. Ask us about any missing measurements before ordering.

Size Between Two Options?

When the Numbers Sit Right Between Sizes

Compare both chest and neck measurements with the chart for the exact product and option. Size letters are not consistent across different harness designs. If no listed size fits both measurements, ask us to confirm a suitable option before ordering.

For collars, choose the size that gives you the most adjustability without being too loose. If you are still unsure, the customer support team can help you pick the right size.

Sizing FAQ

Quick Answers

Is this the same as a Top Paw harness size chart?

No. Top Paw is a different retail brand. PawFurvia sizes are based on our own chest/neck ranges. Measure your dog and compare to the PawFurvia product chart—do not convert size letters from another brand.

What if my dog is between two sizes?

Use the exact product’s chest and neck ranges. Do not automatically size up or down. If your measurements do not clearly fit one option, contact us with the product link and measurements before ordering.

Do you have a sizing chart for each product?

Available measurements are shown on each product page, but some size ranges are still awaiting verification. A size letter alone is not enough to confirm fit. If a chart is missing or marked unverified, ask us to confirm the measurements before ordering.

How do I measure a wiggly dog?

Treats help. A second pair of hands helps more. Measure while your dog is standing naturally — not sitting, not lying down. For chest, the widest part is just behind the front legs.
